Flat Roofing

The Norwich Roofers are a professional flat roofing contractor providing solutions to protect Norwich homes and businesses from the weather all year round on all flat roof systems.

Flat roofs can often be an ideal option for both home and commercial properties, particularly where outbuildings or large structures are concerned. They can be a more cost effective means of roofing than other roofing options, meaning both installation and maintenance are often more affordable.

It’s important to choose the right roofing specialist if you’re considering the installation a new flat roof, or the repair of an existing one.
With the right preparation and planning you can avoid common issues such as ponding, cracking, blistering, poor drainage, bubbling, separation, and excessive movement.
Many of these can lead to structural issues further down the line and be extremely costly.

Flat Roofing, Repairs & Installation

  • Torch on bitumen roof installation

    Bitumen Felt (Torch-On)

Bitumen torch-on mineral felt is by far the oldest method of flat roofing still commonly used, along with lead. However, bitumen felt proves much cheaper than lead, and with a 3 layer build-up is an attractive prospect with its 25 year guarantee.

Still hugely popular with larger buildings such as schools, this proves the confidence we still put into our bitumen flat roofs.

We install this flat roof system onto many extensions over recent years, as homeowners feel the squeeze and extend rather than move.

With an attractive look when expertly installed, this system is offered by The Norwich Roofers in a 2 layer and 3 layer build up.

  • EPDM Rubber Flat Roof

    EPDM (Rubber Roof)

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, or rubber as we prefer to call it, is the most recent product of the three main flat roof systems.

Hugely popular recently because the installation method allows for a much quicker installation time, cutting back on labour hours pushing the quotations up.

Available in different thicknesses to suit the location your property, and use (if any), EPDM rubber can be installed on most extensions in a day or two, offer an aesthetically pleasing finish and with large savings on offer is a flat roof system we install a handful of times monthly.

  • CureIt GRP Fibreglass Flat Roof with Lanterns

    GRP (Fibreglass Roof)

Slightly less bamboozling Glass Reinforced Plastic, or fibreglass, is in demand more now than ever because of it's inclusion in making functional roof space more reliable, and additionally incorporating green roofing, or aspects of it, into one single installation.

Super tough with bandage for pre bonding decking, pre-formed detail mouldings which are coated with resin, matting, and resin again form a flat roof surface that is suitable for foot traffic, is better suited for green roofs given there is no single seal.

The finished product is essentially one large coat of resin, impact-proof for coastal areas such as Norfolk, coated with a grey top coat which also includes additional hardener, you can be sure a fibreglass roof will still be in demand for years to come.
